We exist because the businesses with most to gain from a well-run transition are the ones least often heard in the debate about it.

Why we exist
Australia's energy and climate debate is shaped by a small number of consistent voices, and they are not representative of the economy they speak for. Of 14 Australian climate policies analysed by InfluenceMap, six were repealed, weakened or blocked from more ambitious reform following negative lobbying (InfluenceMap, 2021).
Industry associations speak on behalf of whole sectors. Their members do not always agree with what is said in their name, and rarely say so in public.
Australia already has evidence providers, investor groups, accountability organisations and sectoral industry bodies working on this. What it has not had is a permanent, public, cross-industry business voice making the case that delay is now the greater economic risk.
Future Business Australia was built to bring together the business voices who are prepared to advocate for climate-aligned policy, energy resilience, investment certainty and long-term economic prosperity.
